This year’s ranking introduces a new development: two restaurants have been awarded the special “Best of the Best” title and, from now on, will permanently remain at the very top of the list for as long as their head chefs do not change.

The “Best of the Best” positions were awarded to two restaurants that have left a strong mark on Lithuania’s gastronomic culture, proven their uniqueness and distinctiveness, demonstrated an ever-evolving harmony of flavors, maintained genuine hospitality, and upheld a long-term vision in the market. Both restaurants have already held the No. 1 position in the ranking twice.

The “Best of the Best” title was given to chef Martynas Praškevičius’ modern cuisine restaurant Džiaugsmas, and to Gaspar’s, led by Gaspar Fernandes, which combines European cuisine with contemporary influences from India’s Goa region.

This means that from now on, as long as their head chefs remain the same, these restaurants will permanently retain this special ranking status and will no longer compete for positions within the 1–30 list.
