Situation in the top 30. Last year Velvetti made it to the Top 30 list for the first time and became the first restaurant in Druskininkai to receive such a high evaluation. This year, the members of the Good Food Academy, who voted in the ongoing project, confirmed that, so far, this is the best place to eat in Druskininkai.

Brief restaurant’s story. The couple from Vilnius – Snieguolė and Remigijus – bought the former bank premises in one of the most popular resort cities in Lithuania and decided to use them to offer the best coffee in town and spoil their customers with desserts of the world. And they did their best to do that. Soon the Žižiai family, praised by their customers, without even noticing how that happened, started exploring not only coffee and confectionery, until they grew into a family restaurant.

Restaurant's uniqueness. Family restaurant owned by Snieguolė and Remigijus Žižiai. Snieguolė can be seen in the kitchen preparing fish dishes, cold appetizers and desserts, while Remigijus passion is preparing meat, creating oven roasted dishes and drink menu. They are assisted by three chefs.

Menu briefly. During the day, i.e. after an abundant breakfast until early evening, Velvetti operates as a bistro, where you can try light, delicious and high quality food. Offers of the day are mostly intended for customers who are interested in a healthy lifestyle. However, in the evening, the restaurant’s kitchen reserves much more of the creative freedom and more often surprises with variations of dishes.

News. In the past years Velvetti has introduced the new kitchen offer: 3 course tasting menu (17 Eur) or 4 course tasting menu (25 Eur) + chef compliments. Also, the owners have recently started to make homemade pasta and home-made ravioli with a variety of stuffing: from mushrooms to lamb - depending on the season.

Velvetti culinary hits. Herring appetizer (5,5 Eur), beef shin (11 Eur), homemade ice cream with variety of flavors – starting from nettle to blueberry flavor (3,5 Eur).

Chefs. Snieguolė and Remigijus have been together for already 20 years. Harmony in the family, a tried business tandem and love for good, high quality food brought the couple to the idea of a family restaurant.

Space. Long time ago, a bookstore operated on the current premises of the restaurant, while later on, many different banks opened and closed here one after the other. Snieguolė laughs saying that Velvetti restaurant is perhaps one of the safest places to eat not only in Druskininkai, but also in the entire Lithuania. The current restaurant’s kitchen is located in the room which used to house a money storage.
